Our youth of the Permian Basin wish to honor the veterans of World War II who gave of themselves so everyone could enjoy the Freedom's of today.
A Little About the Trip
Students from the Ector County Youth Center and ECISD will escort the World War II Veterans of the Permian Basin to Washington D.C. where they will visit the memorial. The first trip was scheduled in May but has been postponed until September 13, 2008. We will be having more fund raisers in the coming weeks and months to pay for the trip. Travel will be free of charge for all WWII vets from the Permian Basin area. This trip is costing about $682 per person so far so we really need all the support we can get to help cover these costs. We have had some very successful events so far but we are still short of our goal. We need to raise about $120,000 to send all of our veterans to the memorial.
We are also hoping to get more news and media coverage to help promote the events. We will gladly accept donations both big and small. Funds may be sent to the American Legion Post 430, P.O. Box 1109, Odessa, TX 79760 or by clicking the Donate Button on the right side of the screen.
